The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the fifth main installment in the Elder Scrolls series, following 2006's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game's main story revolves around the player's character, the Dragonborn, on their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The game is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion and takes place in Skyrim, the northernmost province of Tamriel. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open-world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.
Configuration
Options that deviate from RPCS3's default settings and provide the best experience with this title are listed below.
GPU configuration
Setting | Option | Notes |
---|---|---|
Write color buffers | On | Fixes some bloom and brightness issues. May cause game to freeze on some hardware. |
Advanced configuration
Setting | Option | Notes |
---|---|---|
RSX FIFO accuracy | Atomic | If "Fast" is selected then expect freezing. |
Known Issues
Random crashes when entering certain places
The locations presently found are Bleak Falls Temple, House Gray-Mane, Temple of Kynareth, War Maiden's, New Gnisis Cornerclub, Goldenglow Estate, Broken Oar Grotto, The Bee and Barb. All of these places except for The Bee and Barb can be temporarily played with PPU threads set to 3 in the debug tab. Although, this setting WILL break games logic for certain non-essential events. Like you can watch how guards spawn.
