WipEout HD is a futuristic racing video game developed by Sony Studio Liverpool and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3. It is the eighth installment of the WipEout series and was first released on the PlayStation Network on 25 September 2008 in both Europe and North America, and on 29 October 2008 in Japan. A major expansion pack titled WipEout HD Fury was released worldwide via the PlayStation Network worldwide on 23 July 2009. A retail version was later made available in Europe on 16 October 2009. The game revolves around players competing in the FX350 anti-gravity racing league, and features the same race tracks from the PlayStation Portable games WipEout Pure and WipEout Pulse, although the content has been upgraded to render 1080p visuals in 60 frames per second.
Configuration
Options that deviate from RPCS3's default settings and provide the best experience with this title are listed below.
GPU configuration
Setting | Option | Notes |
---|---|---|
Write color buffers | On | Fixes overbright graphics in some tracks. |
Advanced configuration
Setting | Option | Notes |
---|---|---|
Driver wake-up delay | 250 | Setting this value to 250us should fix random crashes, you may need to set it a bit higher on low-end systems but don't go too high as it will hurt performance. We recommend staying below 500. |
Vblank rate | 120 | Allows framerates of up to 120fps. Higher will work however the camera will start swinging wildly vertically as the framerate increases. |
Known Issues
There are no reported issues with this title.
Special Notes
This game supports custom music playlists; to use this feature create a "music" folder in dev_hdd0 and then create a folder within "music" containing your music files of choice (tested with .mp3 format files).
To use this playlist in game select it in Options > Audio > Music Playlist.
