I got the code from rexis's 4k UI mod here https://shrinefox.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=107. The patch.yml provided in his mod has a modified 60fps patch that fixes the subtitles in cutscenes. Before, it would disappear too quickly before the voice finishes. I noticed that after using the updated 60FPS patch, the subtitles work properly.
